O By Gosh By Golly....

Tomorrow starts  the BIG part of my family Christmas festivities.I really really love Christmas, I do but this year has just been ...different. It seems like it's not even Christmas. But any way here is ow Christmas is at my home form December 24 to December 25 at 12 pm.

1. Wake Up around 6ish am and Begin cooking....Pecan Pies(Because this is the only thing on God's green earth that I can cook without burning.)

2.Load Tables and Chairs into the Ranger and transport them to the House for my families fanny's.

3.Welcome people into the House and give warm kind-loving hugs to family.

4.EAT

5.EAT MORE

6. STOP EATING!!!

7.Rest and Relaxation for about two hours.

8. Head to Nanny's .....Because Nanny can't leave home on Christmas Eve... She might get ran over by a reindeer:) Love Ya' Nanny!!!

9. Open Presents....YAY

10. Come home and sing Christmas Songs with Roy an Flo.

11. Sleep

12. Wake before the Rooster and open presents.

13.This year is special because we get to go to church and sing on Christmas Day

14. Go to Nanny's and EAT more....

15.Come home and REST until Monday Comes around...

4.0,Pink Trees and Christmas Stuff

WOW… It’s been awhile since I blogged last.

Christmas is only eleven days away… can you believe it. I did not even get to do much decorating this year because of school and work. Speaking of school I am proud to say that I have completed my first semester with a 4.0 GPA!!!!! (Claps for Me).

 Although I did not get to decorate at home I did decorate a Pink Christmas tree at church, yes a pink Christmas tree. I have probably gone to Wal-Mart seven times in the past two weeks. Just to buy ornaments or fake snow or gingerbread houses or Christmas coffee creamer and even Christmas cookies. But it is all for an awesome reason ….CHRISTMAS!!!

Our Children on Mission has been collecting "Debbie Cakes" for the Dothan Childrens Home. We hade a goal of 100 boxes and were blessed with 70 boxes olny thirty short of our goal.

On Saturday I had the joy of taking Roy to a leadership camp at Butter and Egg in Troy.She had a blast with all her friends in YWOC.She also had the chance to zip line!!!!

The girls in this group are super well behaved and very quite. Quite is really not a word that I could use to describe my friends.

It seems like it’s been, oh’ FOREVER since I blogged last. Well, to say the least I have had a very pack schedule lately.

Here is what I’ve been up to…

Homework

~ I really wish someone (my teachers) in High School would have taught my class and me a little more like we were in college. This really would have helped me out some. But I do have to say my High School Anatomy teacher was the best at helping me prepare for college and I will always love her for this and various other reasons.

~ Note cards are a college students best friend!!! I know its paper and I am killing trees but they are a HUGE help.

P.S I do buy the ones made out of 25% recycled materials.

Alabama Football

 ~ This is one of my most favorite times of the year. I just get so so so excited and cannot contain       myself. There is nothing like watching a Bama football game. In two years I will be a student at Alabama and I absolutely can’t wait.

Church

               ~ I am no longer a student in Sunday school. (I feel kind of old)  I now teach the 1 and 2 year old children and they are the best. I know now that if I have a bad week it will all be ok when I see their smiling little faces on Sunday morning.

My English 103 class has met 3 times. Being an English class I assumed that we would be writing essays and such but I was wrong. All we do in English is talk about the brain….an hour and thirty minutes talking about the brain. This professor has already told us that we went to the worst schools because we did not learn how to draw realistically in high school….wait hold up draw…all I can draw is a stick person.

But I guess I should not complain because on the plus side we are not writing.

College and NASCAR...

     I started college yesterday: /    My first class starts at 7:30 on Mondays so I woke up at four to start getting ready because I have a 1 hour and 15 minute drive .I was ready an hour before I had to leave so I got to sit and watch some news before I left . If you know me you know that I am not a big fan of driving long distance and it was the first day so I was somewhat nervous. To get to WCC I take a few back roads until I get on HWY 27……    now about 27. There is something about this road that makes people think they are Jeff Gordon or Dale Jr. going around the Talladega Speedway.  Hwy 27 is a very very curvy road with LOTS of hills and very few passing zones. But for the little man on the minivan that passed me in a NO passing zone, when a log truck was coming, and while going around a curve nothing mattered but getting to where he was going and being a Nascar driver in the process. The rest of the drive is a piece of cake ;)

Now, about my classes! On the plus side none of them sound like they will be overly hard. I really like my Speech and Biology teachers .But my math and English teacher  not so much cuss just a little too much for me…. So far so good!!!

Bricks,Books and a Crazy Brain...

This week has been busy!!!

Monday I helped Daddy lay the foundation for a carport. And after spacing about 75 bricks out about 5 inches apart and bending over on top of my head and squatting down to position them just right I was dizzy and my legs felt like jello. But on a good note I made some money. Daddy also had to lawn mowers to service for a man and I actually did all the service on them other than changing the blades. Around here girls are expected to do the same kind of work a guy would!!!

 One another note.I now have all my college books for this semester, all $250 dollars of them. But on the plus side I got a $175 dollar math book for $45. YAY!!!!

That was kind of off the subject and you more than likely do not care.... oh well.

The Help

I just recently finished reading the book The Help. This book is amazing!! It had me balling my eyes out at  some parts and laughing hysterically in other parts!!! Note that when reading a book and  you start to laugh aloud and you will attract some very funny facial expresions :)

Summary:

Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. Skeeter would normally find solace with her beloved maid Constantine, the woman who raised her, but Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell Skeeter where she has gone.

Aibileen is a black maid, a wise, regal woman raising her seventeenth white child. Something has shifted inside her after the loss of her own son, who died while his bosses looked the other way. She is devoted to the little girl she looks after, though she knows both their hearts may be broken.

Minny, Aibileen’s best friend, is short, fat, and perhaps the sassiest woman in Mississippi. She can cook like nobody’s business, but she can’t mind her tongue, so she’s lost yet another job. Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town to know her reputation. But her new boss has secrets of her own.

Taking A Walk.....

   I awoke this morning at six to my little sister Bekah turning my bedroom light on and off. I really really did not want to get up because I had nothing to do today now that the girls are back a Good Ole' ZC. So I drug my bootie out of th bed and into the kicthen for a blueberry muffin. A then spent some quality time with my other little sister Roy(it was only five minutes).......Then I walked out on the porch and decided that It was so pretty and cooler than 100 degrees out side so I would take a walk....... thats when I thought about taking the Camera with me....... A year ago this time I was already counting down the days to graduation. Now graduation is come and gone.I said I would not miss school and I don not miss "school" ,locker schedules, tucking in my t-shirt,not being able to were my jeans with holes, or The bizzar songs that got played at max volume every morning .........but here ar a few thing I do miss!!!!  :)

Bama Jam.... with Peaches!!!!

  Today I got to make my first ever Jam (Not as in Music but Food).It was a very interesting process and a great learning experience. Here is the steps...

  1. Get you some Peaches!!!

2.Cut em' into pieces.This may sound like the easiest step but it is very very messey.

3. Then add water and wait for it to boil then add SurJell,and a lot of sugar and wait for it to boil again.

4.This looks ok. Right??

5.Put the Jam in the Jar:)



 6. Turn em' on their Tops and Let em' Cool Down.

P.S    This task would have never been completed if it were not for my AMAZING Mother who was super patience with me through this entire preocess.

Dairy Queen,Thrift Stores,and a Good Book.......

So it's the dead middle of summer in South Alabama and it is HOT!!! So Me,Momma,and the sisters loaded up for a day in our small town and our first stop was The Dairy Queen!!! There we indulged ourselves in a blizzard!!!!!!

We also splurged a a few thrift stores and I was lucky enough to get my hands on this awesome Gone with the Wind Tin Poster!!!!!!!!!!

Then off to the Libary for a good book!!!!
